MOESIA INFERIOR, Marcianopolis. Philip I, with Otacilia Severa. AD 244-249. Æ Pentassarion (29mm, 13.71 g, 12h). Prastina Messallinus, legatus consularis. Struck AD 244-247. Confronted busts of Philip I right, diademed, draped, and cuirassed, and Otacilia left, draped and wearing stephane / Apollo standing facing, head right, raising arm above head and holding bow; E (mark of value) and quiver to left, serpent-entwined tree stump to right. H&J, Markianopolis 6.41.7.1 (R6); AMNG I 1199; Varbanov 2067 (R4). Good VF, dark green patina, minor edge split and light roughness.
